I’ve decided to upgrade the stock horn with aftermarket Sickspeed Horns. Sickspeed offers a variety of aftermarket upgrade options for a number of cars. The package comes with the horns and required brackets for an easy installation process. However, I did have to make my own wiring harness for the horns using some spare wires and male/female spade connectors.
The installation was fairly straightforward just connected the positive inputs and the stock horn plug. I grounded the circuit by bolting the grounding wire onto the vehicle’s chassis.
Since I installed aftermarket horns onto the protege my still grill will not fit without some minor modifications. Since I’m making a custom grill for the car the clearance issue will be compensated during the build.
As for the AAC Sag Fix brackets, i’m going to keep them until noticeable bumper sag is visible on the protege. Given the cost of the brackets is only $60 and a couple hours of your time this kit will definitely get rid of that annoying front bumper sag.
