I’ve been working on a homemade open mouth grill for the pro for some time now. What I ended up doing was I bought myself a broken p5 grill for 10 bucks, extended it and bent the edges in to get the open mouth look using a mesh I cut off from a dollarstore waste basket.
After doing so I got the general shape for the bottom of the open mouth grill. Then I sized and cut the pieces of the grill that was broken and fiberglass’d it all together for a strong hold.
After fiberglassing I used Bondo to fill in all of the imperfections, mesh wires and cracks. It’s coming along but I’m having some trouble getting it to sit properly.
I still have a long way to go with this project and since its my first time attempting anything of this degree it may take longer than expected.
